Leather Rocker Recliner

Leather rocking recliner chairs make a comfortable addition to any home or office decor. The concept of the recliner chair dates back some two hundred years, emerging as an essential piece of furniture. The quality of leather rocking recliners and other styles of motion furniture have been improved by incorporating modern ergonomic designs.

Leather upholstery fabrics are available in a variety of colors and finishes. From smooth and supple Italian leathers to imprinted patterns, leather upholstery fabric is as beautiful as it is durable. When quality leather is combined with a well designed rocking recliner, the result is a great seating experience.

Leather rocking recliners go beyond the simple up and down motion of the traditional recliner chair. Today's leather rocking recliners not only recline but rock, swivel and even glide. Recliner mechanisms are more reliable and well designed. In addition to the more traditional mechanically activated levels or pulls, many recliner model feature power assist mechanisms.

There is a difference between leather upholstery fabrics that is not often evident at first glance. True hide leathers used to make leather upholstery fabrics is cut from tanned and treated animal hides. Some leather look upholstery is made from bonded leather. Bonded leather is made from a combination of leather materials, polyurethane and cotton polyester resulting in a fabric with the look and feel of hide leather.

Fine leather and vinyl upholstery requires special care and there are some steps you can take to protect your investment. As with any upholstery fabric, the ultraviolet rays of the sun can cause a premature wear and discoloration. Be sure to place your leather and furniture away from windows or other sources of direct sunlight. Leather and vinyl will attract dust and dirt and it is important to avoid the use of harsh cleaners and chemicals.

Most manufacturers will recommend using a soft cloth, and a solution of warm water and a very mild soap. Before cleaning, test a small area of the fabric in an inconspicuous location. Gently wipe the fabric with the soap solution and avoid over-wetting. Using clear, warm water, wipe the fabric again and allow to dry.

The home theater experience relies, in part, on creating a comfortable sitting environment. The family room has been replaced by a home theater room, often furnished with separate, theater style chairs. Leather rocking recliners provide home movie buffs with all the comforts of home, often at a fraction of the cost of home theater seating.
